So let's get this out of the way: you can never have too many Ray-Bans. In fact, you should have at least one aviator, one wayfarer, one clubmaster, maybe even a Jackie Ohh. Ray-Bans are the absolute holy grail of all sunglasses. Owning basic Ray-Bans is like owning undies...you just have to. They are the J.Crew basics of the sunshade's world. You just simply cannot live without them. Thank you, moving on.
In 2010, Ray-Ban teamed up with talented modern artists like Matt Moore & James Jean to get the ball rolling on the campaign with the words "Never Hide" as their slogan. The campaign was set to advertise new prints plastered on the Original Wayfarer sunglasses, assuming because the shades in plain black were getting extremely popular at the time. (I'm really hoping the folks at RB sent a nice thank you note to Nicole Richie for that one.) And what do people buy once they already have this oh-so-necessary solid black pair of sunnies? Nothing. Unless you tell them they can be original with exclusive artist's prints on the same style shades that they already know & love. And that's exactly what Ray-Ban did.
